The Polar Express at Branson Scenic Railway

Branson's Magical Christmas Train Ride

The Polar Express returns for the 2026 Christmas season at the historic Branson Scenic Railway, running daily from mid-November through January 3, 2027. The 75-minute round-trip experience aboard vintage diesel locomotives features the conductor punching golden tickets, hot chocolate and cookies served by dancing chefs, a reading of the classic Polar Express book, carol singing, and a visit from Santa who gives each guest the First Gift of Christmas — a silver sleigh bell keepsake.

Just down the street from Roark Creek Resort’s Branson Landing Escape — walking distance from the downtown depot.

Who It’s For: Families with kids, grandparents, holiday-magic seekers, train enthusiasts.

What to Expect: 75-minute train ride, hot chocolate and cookies onboard, Polar Express story read aloud, carol singing, costumed characters, Santa visits each car, silver sleigh bell keepsake.

Do’s: Book tickets when they release in July, wear pajamas to match the story, arrive 30 minutes early for the pre-show, and bring a small camera.

Don’ts: Don’t wait to book — Polar Express tickets often sell out by October. Don’t bring outside food onto the train.
